Numerous significant historical artifacts will be on display: The Secretary's Desk upon which General Washington placed the official copy of his resignation as Commander-in-Chief A digitized copy of the Resignation Speech supplied by the Maryland Archives The gavel and trowel President Washington used to lay the cornerstone of the U.S. Capitol Free to Masons, their guests and the public! Reservations must be made by September 19, 2008 and a ticket secured. Preceding the 7:30 p.m. performance, a reception will be available for $21.00 per person beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Grand Lodge Ballroom, including fruit, cheese, hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, wine and soft drinks.
